How to add a check mark with EasyPDF

  1. Open your PDF

Choose Open a PDF in the editor and select the file from your computer. The current upload limits are 20 MB and 30 pages.

  2. Choose Forms, then Check mark

Select Check mark in the Forms tools. The highlighted button and crosshair cursor show that symbol placement is active.

  3. Click where the tick belongs

Click beside a sentence or inside the intended cell. Keep clicking to add more ticks. Original sentences are not selected for editing while this tool is active.

  4. Finish, save and review

Press Esc or choose Finish placing. Click Save changes to apply the drafts. Sign in with your email or Google account to download, then open the downloaded PDF to check the result.

A tick beside a sentence

For a checklist such as “Training completed”, place the tick in the space beside the words. You do not need to select the original sentence or change its font. Zoom in when a checkbox or table cell is small.

Use Cross and Dot the same way

Forms also includes Cross and Dot. Select the symbol you need, then click its position. These are visible marks added to the page. Adding a tick does not turn a printed checkbox into an interactive form field.

If the tick does not fit

Keep the mark inside the row or box. A very large symbol can exceed a short cell. Reduce its size or choose more space if Save reports that the cell is full. Read the error and correct the draft before trying Save again.

Common questions

Will clicking beside text edit the original words?

While Check mark, Cross or Dot is selected, page clicks place that symbol. Finish placing and choose Edit text when you want to edit a sentence.

Can I undo a misplaced tick?

Use Undo, or Command+Z on Mac and Ctrl+Z on Windows, to remove the most recent change. Review the page before saving and downloading.

Is adding a tick the same as checking a fillable field?

No. A symbol is a visible page addition. Existing interactive checkboxes have their own form controls. Use those controls if you need the field value to remain fillable.
